Technology law, AI and copyright for businesses

I have advised a business angels fund and technology companies, and I run training on copyright in communications and PR. I help businesses use content, software and artificial intelligence without legal surprises.

Typical situations

Companies, agencies, start-ups and communications teams.

  • I am commissioning a logo, campaign or website and want the rights to pass to my company.
  • Our team uses AI tools and we need clear rules on what is and isn’t allowed.
  • We are deploying an AI system and want to know what the EU AI Act requires of us.
  • Our start-up is raising investment and the rights to our code and brand need to be in order.
  • Someone used our photos, texts or an employee’s image without permission.

What I do

Copyright in communications

Agreements with agencies, creators and influencers, licences, use of image rights.

AI in the workplace

EU AI Act

Classifying systems and the obligations under the EU regulation on artificial intelligence.

Copyright in PR and marketing, AI in everyday work – practical, with examples from your industry.

AI and copyright in business – frequently asked questions

If I pay for a logo, do I own the copyright?

Not automatically. Under Polish law economic copyright passes to the client only if the agreement says so expressly and lists the fields of exploitation.

Can my company use ChatGPT and other AI tools?

Yes, but you need clear rules: which data must not be entered, who checks the output and how AI-assisted content is labelled. It is best to set them out in an internal policy.

Is AI-generated content protected by copyright?

The prevailing view is that copyright protects human creativity, so content generated entirely by AI is usually not a protected work. Protection may arise where the human creative contribution is significant.

Does the EU AI Act apply to my company?

It applies not only to developers of AI systems but also to businesses that use them. Obligations are being phased in – since February 2025 companies using AI must ensure their staff have adequate AI literacy.

Can I use someone’s photo or image in advertising?

You need a licence from the photographer for the photo and, as a rule, the person’s consent to use their image. Missing either is a common cause of marketing disputes.

How much does advice or training cost?

I always agree my fee before work begins, as a fixed fee – so you know the cost up front.

Can AI or copyright training be tailored to our industry?

Yes. I build training around real situations from your team’s work – in person in the Tricity or online, in English or Polish.
